Two celestial bodies orbit in space with a starry backdrop, titled 'Star Mage Corps' and 'Star Sorceress: Four,' a space opera series by D. L. Harrison.
  • Went down to the ‘Rents lake house to celebrate my Father’s birthday, and of course, enjoyed some good wine. 🍷

A glass of red wine sits on a wooden surface, with blurred green trees and a lake in the background.

My little brother took us out on the boat after the barbecue.

Gentle waters extend towards a tree-lined shore under a cloudy sky.

It really is beautiful down there, especially when most of the folks aren’t on the lake. 🀣 πŸ“·

Clouds scatter across the sky over a serene lake surrounded by trees.

Planets float in space with stars; one large in the foreground, book cover for 'Fleet Mage, Star Sorceress: Three, A Space Opera Series By: D. L. Harrison.'
  • Some friends recently redid their backyard and deck…and invited us over to see it mostly complete, as well as enjoy a glass of wine and treats.

A dog reclines on an outdoor pet bed next to a plush toy, on a deck with stone-built structures and fencing, at dusk.

The sunset was lovely…the very excitable pup was slightly medicated. πŸŒ… πŸ• πŸ“·

  • Finished reading: Hell Difficulty Tutorial by Cerim πŸ“š
    β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†β˜†

An interesting book, with a rather weird start to it all. The character development is a little lacking (I really want to know more of the backstory of the main character) but the magic / skill system is interesting.

A drawn figure walks forward with a glowing sword, set against contrasting scenes of a bright, tranquil landscape and a dark, fiery abyss. Text reads 'CERIM HELL DIFFICULTY TUTORIAL BOOK ONE'.
  • πŸ”— Global Microsoft Meltdown Tied to Bad Crowdstrike Update - Krebs on Security // krebsonsecurity.com

A faulty software update from cybersecurity vendor Crowdstrike crippled countless Microsoft Windows computers across the globe today, disrupting everything from airline travel and financial institutions to hospitals and businesses online.

The Crowdstrike issue is striking everywhere, two people on my Team can’t use their computers today…and I’m one of them. 😭😀

  • I was in a bit of a “mood” yesterday, just not in a happy place. I finally went for a three-ish mile walk late last night came to the conclusion, for my own mental health, I need to take a tiny break from the news (not tech of course) for a while. πŸ˜”

  • I rarely talk about politics online but I saw this today and I haven’t been able to put it out of my head. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

Text over a multicolored pride-rainbow background reads: 'MAY YOU NEVER KNOW THE FEAR OF HAVING YOUR HUMAN RIGHTS CHALLENGED EVERY TIME THERE IS AN ELECTION. AND MAY YOU NEVER KNOW THE PAIN OF WATCHING LOVED ONES VOTE AGAINST YOUR RIGHT TO EXIST FULLY, EQUALLY AND AUTHENTICALLY.'
  • Enjoying the “new” version of @overcast.fm but everyone was right, muscle-memory is a bit of a barrier. πŸ€£πŸŽ™οΈπŸŽ§

  • πŸ”— LGBT and Marginalized Voices Are Not Welcome on Threads - MacStories // NilΓ©ane // macstories.net

Threads hasn’t felt like a breath of fresh air for all who tried to use it. In my experience as a trans woman, at its best, it has felt like Jack Dorsey’s old Twitter: a social platform overrun by an opaque moderation system, free-roaming hate speech, and a frustrating algorithm that too often promotes harmful content.

Yet another reason to avoid Threads, seems like Facebook (I refuse to call them by their “M” name) are just ignoring harassment, as they’ve always done. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

  • Finished reading: Department of Dungeon Studies by J Pal πŸ“š
    β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†

The start of a promising series (I hope, sometimes authors just never write again), the magic system is complex and difficult to follow at times, as is the history, but this is a great book. πŸ‘πŸ»

A smiling young man holds glowing vials in a stone-walled room filled with potion bottles, under the title 'Department of Dungeon Studies' and the author name 'J. PAL.'
  • It’s too dang hot for coffee today, so I decided to make some “fast” iced coffee in my @atp.fm pint glass. πŸ§Šβ˜•οΈ Thought it was pretty cool, seeing the coffee melt the ice. 🀣

A coffee filter drips into a glass carafe on a kitchen countertop, flanked by colorful canisters. Website address 'lostinahaste.com' is visible.
  • A friend was talking about sushi earlier in the week and thus, I had a bit of a craving…so, sushi for dinner!

Assorted sushi in a plastic tray featuring rolls with avocado, fish, and drizzled sauce, alongside ginger and wasabi, on a kitchen counter with packets and a website URL: lostinhaste.com.

My Partner and I used to go to a local pizza bar, they had a wood-fire pizza oven and made the best food. πŸ˜‹πŸ• “Had” in the sense they’ve recently closed; they survived the pandemic but never seemed to fully recover. πŸ˜πŸ“·

Triangular flatbread pieces surround a bowl of olive oil on a wooden table, suggesting a meal setting. Text at the bottom reads 'lostinhaiste.com'.
  • I had to take my servers offline…the rain from Texas has arrived and my basement is now flooding. 😭🌊πŸ–₯️
