#Flashback-Friday 📷 2024-12-19

As is our annual tradition, my partner and I went to the local Zoo to see Christmas lights…and wandered into the penguin house to warm up a big. 🤣🐧🎄🏳️‍🌈

🎙️ Just listened to the holiday episode of Upgrade on @relay@relayfm.social, laughed so hard at Jason’s gingerbread house story and it was so gratifying to hear the two hosts views on green-bean casserole (they hold to proper viewpoint that it’s an abomination and is ranked “F” 🤢). 🎄

We normally take down Christmas on January 6th (growing up, we’d leave Christmas up until Epiphany) but given the craziness of last weekend (trip to the theater, an engagement party, chores, & migraines), we just didn’t get to it…so tonight is it, say farewell to the Home Alone house. 🎄📷

Over the weekend, my Partner and I were offered tickets to see Mrs. Doubtfire at the local theater. 🎭 It was an unexpected treat (our friends had just come back from London and were rather jet-lagged), both the show and the holiday decoration in the theater.🎄 📷

It was also the first serious snowfall of the season. 🌨️ It was mostly melted by the time we woke up in the morning but it was a pretty drive home (took back roads, to avoid all the people who are bad at driving in snow 🤣). ❄️

All in all, it was a lovely night. 👏🏻

🍿 For our last movie of the night, we’re watching Make the Yuletide Gay. As with most LGBTQ movies made in that era, it isn’t the greatest of movies but it is our Christmas Eve tradition. 🏳️‍🌈🎄

🍿 This movie has grown on me since last year, Spirited is kicking off the movie viewing experience of Christmas Eve. Three stars…but that might change once this movie is over. 🎄

🍿 Ended up doing a double-feature tonight and watched the Christmas Setup, a lovely holiday movie. 🎄 It’s sappy but I do love seeing LGBTQ movies hitting the mainstream. 🏳️‍🌈

Last weekend, my partner and I went to see some holiday lights at our local botanical garden. It was a wonderful time, they always so such a great job of decorating things and of course, me being me, I took well over two hundred photos (yes, I’m that guy). I wanted to post them all but that would be a little overkill, instead, here are 30-ish of the best ones.

Note: I wanted to post these photos the day after we went to the garden but I wasn’t really in-love with any of the gallery plugins available…so I ended up making my own.

When all was said and done, everyone had a great time. 🥰🎄📷

We went to see the lights at the local botanical gardens this weekend, it was a fantastic evening and the lights were gorgeous; will be posting photos in a day or three… 🎄📷

🍿 Decided on a second movie tonight: The Holiday Sitter. 🎄 It’s a silly Hallmark holiday movie but it’s rather adorable and kinda nice to see my people represented in the genre. 🏳️‍🌈 We’ll be adding this to our Holiday movie rotation.
