Movies πΏ

πΏ Friends came over tonight and after hearing the list of “scary” options we had, they picked Ghostbusters instead of Hocus Pocus…and I have no complaints (especially as we watched Hocus Pocus last weekend with a different group of friends π).

πΏ Date Night: we decided to watch a movie neither of us had seen and as we’ve been watching Fawlty Towers lately, we ended up on A Fish Called Wanda. By the end, our sides were hurting from all the laughing; π€£ this movie is beyond absurd, in all the best possible ways.

πΏ Date Night: Greek food and Sleepless in Seattle. It was my first time seeing it and yes, I would totally watch it again.
β β β ββ -
πΏ In honor of Glynis Johns passing a few days ago, we watched The Court Jester tonight. It was an absolute riot, a musical comedy that spoofs elements of Robin Hood and had us laughing the entire time.

πΏ For our last movie of the night, weβre watching Make the Yuletide Gay. As with most LGBTQ movies made in that era, it isnβt the greatest of movies but it is our Christmas Eve tradition. π³οΈβππ

πΏ For the second viewing of the night, weβre watching the Holiday, one of my absolute favorite holiday movies. π₯°π

πΏ This movie has grown on me since last year, Spirited is kicking off the movie viewing experience of Christmas Eve. Three stars…but that might change once this movie is over. π
β β β ββ -
πΏ Ended up doing a double-feature tonight and watched the Christmas Setup, a lovely holiday movie. π It’s sappy but I do love seeing LGBTQ movies hitting the mainstream. π³οΈβπ
β β β ββPlus, it has Fran!

πΏ We watched a Christmas Story tonight. π It isn’t my favorite movie but my Partner loves it, so every year we watch it.
β β βββ -
πΏ One of my favorite holiday movies, While You Were Sleeping always brings happy tears. π
β β β β β -
πΏ Decided on a second movie tonight: The Holiday Sitter. π It’s a silly Hallmark holiday movie but it’s rather adorable and kinda nice to see my people represented in the genre. π³οΈβπ We’ll be adding this to our Holiday movie rotation.

πΏ Full of mac ‘n cheese, in honor of Kevin’s meal during the movie. This is my Partner’s favorite movie, even after more than 30 years, it has reviewability. π
β β β ββ -
πΏ Tonight’s feature film was an old family favorite: Christmas Vacation. π
β β β ββ -
πΏ Another favorite, tonight we watched White Christmas. π
β β β β β -
πΏ As it’s Halloween, of course we’re watching The Nightmare Before Christmas. π
β β β β βI suspect I’m going to start decorating for Christmas tomorrow; it’s been a rough year and I could use the extra “holiday” time. π
