I took a random Friday off from work last month to drive down to my parents' lake house to help them with some heavy chores around their lake house…and this was the view from their dock. ๐Ÿฅบ

A serene lake reflects the autumn trees and sky, with houses lining the forested shoreline.

A few weeks ago, my Partner and I tried out a new (to us) Mexican restaurant, with some interesting decor. ๐Ÿ˜† The food was tasty, we’ve been back more than a few times since. ๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ

A neon sign on a brick wall displays the humorous message, FEED ME TACOS AND TELL ME I'M PRETTY, with a website URL at the bottom.

My Partner and I used to go to a local pizza bar, they had a wood-fire pizza oven and made the best food. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ• “Had” in the sense they’ve recently closed; they survived the pandemic but never seemed to fully recover. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ“ท

If you think the flooding is bad this year, back in 2013, large portions of the riverfront were soaked & closed. Something not pictured, directly to the right of me was a parking garage with a few cars stuck underwater. ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿš—โ›ˆ๏ธ

We were walking along the beach in Florida (my Partner wanted to hit the lower 48 states before he turned xx) and stumbled upon some sort of battle in the sand…with no one else around; it was just us and figurines, with the ocean slowly encroaching. ๐ŸŒŠโ›ฑ๏ธโ˜€๏ธ

A large group of miniature figures is positioned around a grayish outcrop on a sand-covered ground, website address 'lostinhaste.com' displayed.

Talk about a flashback, I took this photo when I was installing Ubuntu on the first laptop I ever bought. ๐Ÿ’ป

A CD labeled 'Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn Desktop i386' rests beside an open laptop on a carpeted floor. The website 'lostinhaste.com' is visible on the laptop.

    Two tidbits:

    • I hated Vista so much it drove me into the welcome arms of Linux ๐Ÿคญ
    • That laptop lasted about a year before I spilled water on it ๐Ÿ˜ญ

My employer rented out the local Six Flags (along with other companies, it was a corporate thing) for an “employee appreciation night." The park was mostly empty, so we had our choice of rides, with almost no lines. Took this photo at the top of the Ferris wheel. ๐ŸŽก ๐ŸŒ…

Taken just a few days ago, I’d just flopped onto the bed after work, with my kindle in hand…when I heard a buzzing in my ear and something smacked my head. I looked around in bewilderment and saw this little fella right next to me on the bed. ๐Ÿ˜Š

A cicada rests on a textured blue and white quilt near a window with a dark curtain. The website 'lostinhaste.com' is overlaid on the image.
