Finished reading: In Clawed Grasp by Seth Richter ๐
โ โ โ โ โI went into this not expecting much but wow, was I surprised: this book was great. The “leveling system” is both more and less well-defined than many other books in the LitRPG genre, which is awesome. I can’t wait for the second one! ๐

Well this is an interesting turn of events…it looks like Google has completely blocked my IP address from watching YouTube videos. ๐ค๐ณ

It’s the very definition of a first world problem but I’m unable to rent / reserve skis for an upcoming vacation because someone didn’t check to see if the latest deploy didn’t contain breaking javascript changes on the site. ๐คฃ๐ฑ๐ญ #ScreamsIntoTheVoid

I can’t believe it’s been a year since we said goodbye to Russell. The pain has faded a little but it feels like it’s been both an eternity but also just the blink of an eye since we said our farewells to our little puppy-rabbit. ๐
Lots of tears today… ๐ญ
We miss you, we still miss you. ๐ถ๐ ๐ท

Finished reading: Resistance Above Magic by B.T. Narro ๐
โ โ โโโI wouldn’t call it “great literature” but it was a fun read, very much reminding me of my time playing WoW, with all the talk about skill trees, leveling, & stat bonuses from gear. ๐ฎ

Finally got around to installing an “extender” SATA card into my media server, to add more drives…and of course, it doesn’t work. ๐ค ๐พ ๐ท

Trying to update the SSL certificates our Kafka consumer / producer uses and it’s driving me to drink more coffee. โ๏ธ๐คช

Finished reading: Rune Seeker 2 by J.M. Clarke & C.J. Thompson ๐
โ โ โ โโThe second book of the series, this follows up directly to the ending of the last one…and boy, does it deliver. This one couldn’t exist without the first but it’s much better; we finally get some (fascinating) backstory. ๐ก๏ธ๐ก๏ธ

…and I only just finished my first cup of coffee. โ๏ธ๐คช

Someone created a Github issue for my Justified Swipebox Micro.blog pluginโฆand Iโm so excited to know someone out there is at least looking at my work, much less using it; itโs not really โmy workโ, I just enhanced / joined two other libraries so theyโd work with Micro.blogโฆbut still, Iโm excited!

๐ I was cleaning up voicemail on my lunch-break and found some old ones from Grandma; for the first time since she passed, I didn’t instantly burst into tears at the sound of her voice. ๐ฅฐ I still miss that beautiful soul every day, especially the sound of her laugh, but the pain is easier now. ๐โค๏ธ

๐ HP CEO evokes James Bond-style hack via ink cartridges
It's clear that HP's tactics are meant to coax HP printer owners into committing to HP ink, which helps the company drive recurring revenue and makes up for money lost when the printers are sold.
This is why I will never again buy an HP printer; claiming you're _"protecting"_ consumers from viruses when in reality, you're protecting your bottom line...at least have the fortitude to own up to yourfinancial prioritiesgreed. -
The “view” from inside the front door this morning. ๐ฅถ๐ง๐ท

Went skiing earlier, the first time in seven years. We had a great time but good grief, I’m sore…where is a hot-tub when you need one?! ๐คฃโท๏ธ๐ท
(Not pictured: the massive amount of beginners on the slopes, they were everywhere, crashing into everything. ๐ฎโ๐จ)

Maybe I’m in the minority but I really don’t care about Apple Vision Pro… ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
