I use the iOS Photos widget on my Home Screen and there have been a lot of #Russell photos popping up lately. 💔🐶 I’ve decided it would be a good idea to post them, until it isn’t… 🤣

I still wake up every day, missing Russell, hoping it was just a bad dream…only for reality to come crashing down on me. 💔🐶 I’m so grateful to all the friends who’ve been there for me, trying to offer comfort and companionship; I’m truly blessed. ❤️

“How did that annoying little creature worm his way so deep into our hearts?" - me asking my Partner between breakdowns today 💔🐶

Nobody tells you how much this hurts…or maybe they did and I just didn’t realize? I’ve never lost a pet as an adult; it’s been less than 12 hours and I feel like it’s been an eternity. I don’t know what I’m going to do without Russell, the world just feels so…empty. 💔🐶

We said goodbye to our boy today. He drifted across the rainbow bridge full of all his favorite foods (ham, meatballs, & pâté), nestled between us on the couch (it was his favorite place to be). I’m going to miss you, my little puppy-rabbit, I’m going to miss you. 💔🐶🐕

I’m reminded of my favorite song from my favorite musical:

…Of course, in my head, I’m changing out “people” with “dogs” but you get the idea…

Goodbye my little friend, I’m going to miss you…until we (hopefully) meet again. Thank you for letting me be your Human. 💔🐶

Russell was giving a lot of side eye when I was trying to get him to look at the camera… 🤣🐶

There wasn’t much space in the recliner but he wanted to sit with me and I couldn’t say no… 🥰

Russell was begging for scratches and who was I to deny him…he got a lot of scratches.

Decided to get out and enjoy the weather on the first day of the New Year. 🌤️ Russell had a great time exploring one of the local parks. 😄🐾

Russell was chasing the sun, poor little muffin. 😹

The cold came in over the weekend and I never saw his head again… 🥱😸

Sleepy boy…he woke us up and herded us into the living room so he could take a nap… 😅😴🥰
