We weren’t planning on watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony tonight but the Boo pulled out the rabbit ears from the basement; it was an amazing show but now I miss Paris. 🇫🇷 📷

Went down to the ‘Rents lake house to celebrate my Father’s birthday, and of course, enjoyed some good wine. 🍷

My little brother took us out on the boat after the barbecue.

It really is beautiful down there, especially when most of the folks aren’t on the lake. 🤣 📷

Some friends recently redid their backyard and deck…and invited us over to see it mostly complete, as well as enjoy a glass of wine and treats.

The sunset was lovely…the very excitable pup was slightly medicated. 🌅 🐕 📷

It’s too dang hot for coffee today, so I decided to make some “fast” iced coffee in my @atp.fm pint glass. 🧊☕️ Thought it was pretty cool, seeing the coffee melt the ice. 🤣

A friend was talking about sushi earlier in the week and thus, I had a bit of a craving…so, sushi for dinner!

My Partner and I used to go to a local pizza bar, they had a wood-fire pizza oven and made the best food. 😋🍕 “Had” in the sense they’ve recently closed; they survived the pandemic but never seemed to fully recover. 😭📷

If you think the flooding is bad this year, back in 2013, large portions of the riverfront were soaked & closed. Something not pictured, directly to the right of me was a parking garage with a few cars stuck underwater. 🌧️🚗⛈️

I ate far too much at “the girls” (my lady-friends from college) annual 4th of July barbecue party; everything tasted great but I ended up with a stomach ache afterwards. 🤣

We were walking along the beach in Florida (my Partner wanted to hit the lower 48 states before he turned xx) and stumbled upon some sort of battle in the sand…with no one else around; it was just us and figurines, with the ocean slowly encroaching. 🌊⛱️☀️

Went out to grab some lunch with a friend / coworker. 📷

Talk about a flashback, I took this photo when I was installing Ubuntu on the first laptop I ever bought. 💻

Two tidbits:

• I hated Vista so much it drove me into the welcome arms of Linux 🤭
• That laptop lasted about a year before I spilled water on it 😭

We said farewell to our furry house guest tonight, she’s heading back to her Daddy’s house (he was out of town for work). 🐶🐕

She was rather sleepy when I took this photo, we’d just been on a three and a half mile walk. 🚶🥱 📷

My employer rented out the local Six Flags (along with other companies, it was a corporate thing) for an “employee appreciation night." The park was mostly empty, so we had our choice of rides, with almost no lines. Took this photo at the top of the Ferris wheel. 🎡 🌅

Taken just a few days ago, I’d just flopped onto the bed after work, with my kindle in hand…when I heard a buzzing in my ear and something smacked my head. I looked around in bewilderment and saw this little fella right next to me on the bed. 😊

In desperate need of a “pick me up” and just remembered a friend of mine brought back some coffee from Hawaii. 🥱☕️ 📷
