Wild Onion and Pine

I was almost impaled by a cardinal and a the sudden appearance of a doe nearly threw me from my bike in shock. That about sums up my day.
I can just imagine the puzzled look on the faces of people, so I’ll explain. Today after work, I found myself on the Katie Trail again. I ended up biking twenty-three miles (for the second time in three days) all the way down to Weldon Springs. I actually was fun (except for the swallowing of bugs…) and felt good at the time. Of course now my a$$ hurts. …I really need to get a bigger seat for my seat…
So during the course of my lovely ride (in between being attacked by massive amounts of flies and gnats), a beautiful cardinal flew out of the bushes beside the trail. I didn’t realize it at the time, but he was trying to kill me! I was moving on by and all of a sudden, he veered right at me! I’m not sure I’d be typing this if he hadn’t make a sharp right turn to avoid a head-on collision…
After that, I was a little shaken up, so it came as no surprise to me that I freaked out when a deer suddenly crossed the path a mere five or so feet in front of me! She just looked at me as if wondering what I was doing in her forest before she moved up the hill. …After that I decided to walk my bike for a hundred feet or so…
It was right around the time of the deer incident that I noticed the near overpowering sent of wild onion! I simply love that smell and it had been a while since they have been around, so I took my time through that area.
As for the pine, I’m sure you can figure out there are pine trees along the trail that smell wonderful at dusk.
