I isn’t even yet 7:30 and I’ve already had an interesting day. Due to Rams interference yesterday, I didn’t get a chance to work so last night I decided to get into work early today. Of course, I didn’t get as much sleep as I’d planned on (MJ called and we chatted for a bit out going out today) so I woke up at 4:30.
The drive to work was cold and uneventful, as was the freezing walk from the parking garage to the office. I ended up filling out the rest of my time sheet and doing research for some training I have to give later today, completely loosing track of time. I’d intended to get to Star Bucks early enough to miss the rush but it was still pretty empty when I got there @ 7. After getting my new cold weather favorite (white chocolate mocha) I walked to the door…only to find it jammed. I was trapped!
While there were only about nine of us (three employees) in there, a line was forming outside of the store in the freezing weather. There are worse things than being trapped in a Star Bucks but I have a lot of crap to work on today, so I was starting to panic… Thankfully, I was only stuck there for about ten minutes when another customer jammed a screwdriver into the latch, freeing the rest of us. After battling my way through the line of people trying to get into the store, I hightailed it back to work.
