Lost In Haste

This weekend the girls (Tammy, Diane, and Marietta) ended up driving down to see an old friend from college who now lives in Tennessee. Eileen moved down there for a job earlier this year (a little after New Years) and we hadn’t seen her since, so this was the perfect opportunity (or so we figured two months ago when we planned this little adventure)!

Unfortunately I’ve tried three separate times to write this post and each time I end up rambling to such an extent that it even offends me, much less other people. It was an amazing trip but I just can’t seem to write about it… Which is why I’ve fallen back to the old stand-by of unordered lists! Yes, you heard that right unordered lists!

The Good:

• Super Man in Metropolis was great!
• Marietta make up the craziest dances, causing Tammy to laugh uncontrollably and almost send us off the road.
• We took way too many pictures… (Translation: Lots of memories)
• We drank Friday night and had a great time at a bar full of army guys.
• I picked up a girl…literally! …get your mind out of the gutter!
• Saturday afternoon was spent in Nashville at wandering about a giant mall. We ended up playing glow-in-the-dark miniature golf, eating at the Rainforest Cafe, hitting Starbucks twice, and getting lots of exercise.
• I got my ear pierced…again…
• We drank ourselves silly Saturday night…and for the most part had a good time…
• The girls (except for Marietta, but then again, she was the DD) had hangovers this morning and I didn’t…priceless!
• Breakfast at IHOP was truly amazing, as is all food the next morning after heavy drinking.
• The four of us jamming to Heather Small’s Proud (my favorite song of all time).

The Bad:

• We took way too many pictures… (Translation: Too many pictures to go through and figure out what was going on at that point in time)
• The girls hated my iPod playlist! Granted, I had a lot of songs by people they’d never heard of, but still…
• We drank Friday night… From what I can remember I had:
  • 2 shots of vodka
  • 3 jello shots
  • 1 shot of soco and lime
  • 2 shots of jager
  • 2 long island ice teas
• Lunch cost an arm and a leg at the Rainforest Cafe…
• We had the bitchiest waitress in the world at the Rain Forest Cafe. Eileen wanted to slap her…
• I got my ear pierced…and once again get to live through the mild pain whenever I touch my ear for the next two weeks…
• We drank Saturday night… This time I actually made a list (I like to do that when I drink):
  • 2 shots of vodka
  • 1 shot of soco and lime
  • 3 shots of jager
  • 3 long island ice teas
• While the car trip there was a piece of cake, the ride back was rather long…

The Ugly:

• There was a slight bit of drama between Diane, Tammy, and myself on Saturday over the army guys they brought back to Eileen’s place. Enough said and now forgotten…
• I shudder to think of how much money I spent on this little vacation…and still haven’t checked my online bank ballance…

I’d say the trip was a pretty complete ssuccess. We accomplished everything we set out to do…well, almost everything… I kinda felt bad for causing such a mess at Eileen’s place but I told her when she comes up to visit after I move into my place and decorate, she can be a pig. Something to look forward to!
