Lost In Haste

I’ve been woken up every morning this week by head hunters.  So, when the phone rang at 9:30 today, I wasn’t really shocked.  However, this call was different.  The third contracting company I interviewed had a client that wanted me to come in for an interview!  So, of course I agreed to it and once I got off the phone, started a jig. 

But that’s not all folks!  About an hour later, the first contracting company I meet with called me and their client wanted me to come in and meet them today!  So, I did laundry, took a shower, ironed my shirt, learned how to tie a tie from watching a Google video, tied the tie, and finally jumped in my car.  (The really cool thing about this job is that they are only twenty minutes from my house!)  Of course, I got lost on the way there…

So, I get there and wait for a few minutes.  It was casual Friday at the office, so I fell way overdressed.  Anyway, the IT manager came into the lobby, gave me a handshake and let me to their interview room, which was their lounge area.  (Apparently he’s very laid back and really doesn’t like interviews)  The company who had gotten me the interview told me to act like myself, so of course I aced the interview!    So, I start Thursday.

The only problem is that this place is only paying me three dollars more an hour than I made at my internship and I’ll be there for just ten weeks… *sigh*  So, if the interview I had on Monday goes well and they offer me the job, I’d definitely take it.  I don’t mean to be a bitch, but the other company would make me an employee with benefits, so the choice is only logical, as Mr. Spock would say.
