Forest Park Fun

Oh, today totally rocked! I can’t remember the last time I’ve laughed so hard at myself (or someone else). If it wasn’t the wild life trying to get us, it was crazy pedestrians on the walk-ways!I speak/type about the early morning bike ride we took today.
Yesterday Shannon (girl from work for those of you not from work reading this) and I had planned on biking on the Katie trail. Unfortunately (or maybe unfortunately) it had rained all night, causing the trail to be a sodden, muddy mess… So we canceled.
Well, we were chatting last night and decided to give it another ytu. The only difference: this time I headed out to her place. Of course, I got up way to early (5ish) which meant I left the house too early (6ish). So by the time I got to Shannon’s place (after having to call her for directions because I’d left mine on the floor next to my bed), it was before 7! Naturally she wasn’t dressed (get your mind out of the gutter) yet for biking, so I waited around a few minutes.
After eating a banana, we jumped on the bikes and made our way to Forest Park after crossing Skinker. Despite all the raining and mud and puddles, I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun riding a bike! Between the jokes and evil plans cooked up between the two of us, I sort of forgot I was on a bike. Of course, when some a$$ who didn’t know how to ride on the correct side of the road forced me off the trail, I sure as hell remembered…and so did the rest of my body…
I’d have to say the highlight of the whole adventure was Shannon was nearly attacked by a kamikaze squirrel. We were riding along, minding our own business when all of a sudden this squirrel came out of nowhere and started to charge her! He broke off at the last second but not before she screamed! It was amazing! Add to that the army of squirrels fleeing from Shannon and the durkey (a duck which looks remarkably like a turkey), and you have yourself a smacking good time!
Eventually we got tired and headed back to her place. But what early morning bike ride would be complete without breakfast? After a quick pit stop off at Shannon’s apartment (I agree with her friend, she does have the decorating taste of a gay man), we speed off to pick up Autumn. During the crazy car ride, I learned a valuable lesson: never ever touch anything an artiest has had her hands on! I made this mistake of picking up a shoe and got oil paint all over me! Shannon ended up laughing so hard she was swerving into other lanes! It was perfect.
P.S. - The three of us ate way too much at the IHop. They almost needed a crowbar to pry me out of the booth!
P.S.S. - To the employees of infuz: beware water balloons!
