Crazy Weekend, Part 2
Apr 8th, 2007 at 8:43 pm by Jon
It was a disaster of course. Going to sleep the night before I knew it would be. But never in a million years did I think it would ever be this bad! …Of course, I’m talking about Easter dinner with my family…
The weekend started out totally great! I went on a two hour bike ride (and of course lost feeling in my fingers five minutes into it) after work on Friday. Despite the insane cold, I really enjoyed myself. Of course, my enjoyment may have been in part to putting more air in my tires! Or maybe it was the deer that was running with me, alongside the trail.
After the bike ride, I had a wonderful little chat with you know who for a few hours. He helped distract me from the insanity going on at home…which I should have seen as a prelude to today… After I got off the phone, Diane 1.0 called with some input about lunch on Saturday. I somehow feel sleep after getting off the phone with her and woke up at 4am to turn off the TV and my computer.
I was just leaving the house the next day when my Grandma called and asked me what time I was coming over. Holy $hit! I’d completely forgot that I had planned on helping her! So we set up a time after lunch and I went on my merry way.
The two Dianes and I had an amazing time at Bread Co. and talked for hours! Of course, I took me an entire hour just to explain all the gossip they had both missed. After than ton of talking, Diane 2.0 gave us the good news: She got her internship in St. Louis!Â
Which means we have the whole summer to hang out before she head out to Grad School in Philly!
After lunch/early dinner, I rushed to my Grandma’s place like my tail was on fire! Well, that is if I had a tail…but you get the idea. We spent about an hour and a half cleaning up her woods and burning area so she can be a fire-starter this week. After that she fed me some amazing soup (my recipe of course) and we had a nice little chat.
Which brings us to today… I stared out with me sleeping through my two alarms and not getting to go for a bike ride. Instead, I woke course of the dressing/clothing thing, my mom dropped the f-bomb in my direction (actually at me) b/c I told her I was almost ready! (In her defense, I was running a tad late) So of course, I fired back with a few choice phrases and the game was on! We all bi!ched at each other all the way to my Grandma’s house. We were all pretty well behaved after that until my little brother decided to start up with the fag nonsense during the card game… Thankfully, my aunt (once removed) thought he was just being a typical thirteen year old and didn’t think anything off it…
The car ride back was even worse! The fag jokes continued (thank god my Grandma has poor hearing) as did the Jons-going-to-hell chanting. By the time we dropped off my Grandma at her house, we was almost ready to just crash the car to shut the little $hit up!
The sad fact is that in comparison to last year or the year before that, this Easter was rather sedate…Â I really thought there was going to be dishes thrown again this year…Â Or tears and blood were gong to be shed…
And just to heap on the insanity of today, I just found out my former best friend broke up with his boyfriend in a text message! God Lord, will the high school $hit never end?! I really don’t know how to feel about it… Despite our differences and huge problems, part of me is sad because he is now alone again… However, as much as it pains me to say it, another part of me isn’t that surprised…I just hope he recovers from this one…
So your tail is on fire, huh? What have you been doing?! (or who!)
Ah…you set yourself up for these things! I just had a fabulous afternoon today! I finally decided that I had had enough bad hair days…and it really was time for a change anyway. I got my hair cut and it looks really cute! I’m so excited! Anyway…I had a good time last Saturday. It was fun to just hang out…and eat…just like old times!
(Which is why you have to work out for two hours and lose feeling in your fingers!) I should too, but it’s too much work. Besides…I got looked up and down today by a guy after getting my hair cut! Bliss! Talk to you soon! Miss you!
What is this about a text message? I don’t think so..
I’m only the messenger…
