Life and School

Well, I figured it was about time I posted another blog, so here we all are… Time for the big question: why are we here? No, just joking! I’m sitting here at work studying for my American Literature I test. By the looks of things, I will be bombing it in a spectacular fashion… While I was trying to study (in between people bringing in their computers of course), I realized that despite the many strides I’ve taken upon graduating high school and coming to college, I’m still somewhat immature.
In one of the books I read a few years ago, I came across a line talking about how going to school kept the individuals of the society from fully maturing. I have to wonder, does this apply in our society? Does the attendance of our places of high education keep students immature? One only has to look towards Greek Hill to see evidence of the immaturely of college students. I wonder what would have happened to me if I had not gone to college and instead immediately went into the ‘Real World.’ Would I have made it, or would I have failed and drowned like so many who have come before me…?
Fortunately, I did go to college and did have more time to grow up. I have come a long way and the proof of that is in the fact that I now realize I’m not grown up. I still have a lot to learn; not just about life, but about myself as well. But I’m learning that that’s what counts! ![]()
No kidding.
