A friend asked me today why I was so very obsessed with writing quotes down and then putting them on my website. Well, I really didn’t have an answer at the time, so I thought about it all day (well, only when I was in class…).
After a while, I came to just one conclusion: I want to remember!
I have a horrible memory for anything at the moment. I can barely remember anything in the now; much less remember anything in a few years. Yea, I’ll remember who my friends were and some of the times we had, but I won’t remember the everyday stuff. I want to remember making an ass out of myself over something entirely trivial or my best friend sticking his foot in his mouth with a stupid comment. In three, five, ten years, I can look back on this and say, “Oh, I remember that!” and have a good laugh.
As for my website, that’s a bit trickier to answer… I guess it breaks down to sharing with my friends. Oh sure, anyone can go to my website and look at the quotes. There are explanations, so they can understand them, but they really don’t. Only my friends and I can truly understand the quotes. We’re like, “oh wow, that was fun last week!” or “you were so funny that night!” It’s sort of a thing that we share.
So, there you go! Thanks why I’m such a fanatic about my quotes and my website. So, all of you who hate it when I write down quotes, can go f*&$ yourselves! No not really, I’m just joking.
